7 Days Tanzania Photo Safaris

Day 1 - Arusha
Once you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport Our Guides will be there to receive you with a warm Tanzanian welcome.
Our guides will transfer us to Olasiti Lodge. Olasiti lodge is a garden oasis, situated only 7 km from the central Arusha
business district. This lodge boasts a wonderful restaurant, lounge, bar, and a saltwater pool. Tonight we will have dinner
and then get some well deserved rest.

Day 2 - Arusha / Ngorongoro Highlands
After a wonderful breakfast, and a pre-departure orientation, we set off for the Ngorongoro Highlands. Today we will have a
day to relax and enjoy a walking photo safari in the Ngorongoro highlands, escorted by an armed park ranger. Pack a light
waterproof/breathable jacket in case it we get a light drizzle while trekking through the dense vegetation of the highlands.
We will visit a waterfall, elephant caves, and have the opportunity to photograph the wildlife in the area. This is a
fairly easy to moderate trek, depending on how wet or dry the trails are.
After photographing in the highlands, we then head back to Tloma Mountain Lodge. Tloma Mountain lodge is an exclusive 20
cottage lodge situated within the Ngorongoro Highlands area. It’s brilliantly located on the raised shoulder of a valley,
offering breathtaking views over coffee plantations and onto the Eastern Wall of the Magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 3 - Ngorongoro Highlands / Lake Manyara
Today we will be Visiting Lake Manyara National Park today. Lake Manyara NP is wonderfully situated in northern Tanzania.
Although the park is 127 sq. miles, of which up to 77 sq. miles is water when the levels are high, it boasts a magnificent
array of wildlife. The park is known for it’s herds of elephants, their famous but elusive tree-climbing lions, hippos,
giraffes, and smaller animals. Due to the presence of water, the park hosts a diverse range of bird life, ground hornbills,
forest hornbills, storks, eagles, flycatchers and many other species. After a full morning of photography in the park we will
head back to our base at Tloma Mountain lodge for a great lunch. You’ll have the option to head back out to Lake Manyara
after lunch for more great photography or perhaps hang back and enjoy a siesta or the amenities(Heated Saltwater Pool) at the
lodge. This afternoon we enjoy sundowners at the lodge.

Day 4 - Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater is one of the greatest natural spectacles of the world. It’s caldera is a stunning 12 miles across and
covers over 150 square miles of majestical flora and fauna. This is home to some of the few remaining black rhinos found in
east Africa. Four out of the ”Big five” mammals can easily be seen in the crater on any given day. Animals are in abundance
in the crater year round due to plentiful water and food. Encounter some of the biggest tuskers found anywhere. But don’t
just be on the lookout for lions and hyenas, as cheetahs, serval cats and many other predatory mammals roam throughout the
crater. Ngorongoro Crater is truly an African eden, we will descend 2000 feet into this caldera where more than 25,000
animals graze and hunt. We will set out to search for elephants, black rhinos, buffalo, cheetahs, lions, hyenas, hippos,
wildebeests and many more of East Africa’s superb wildlife. We will enjoy picnic lunches while out in the crater. Our luxury
camp for the next two nights will be on top of the crater rim, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the crater, while
sipping sundowners next to a warm fireplace.

Day 5 - Ngorongoro / Olduvai / Serengeti
After breakfast we will depart for the Olduvai Gorge en route to the Serengeti. Olduvai Gorge is commonly referred as “The
Cradle of Mankind” where on expeditions in the early 1960’s , Louis and Mary Leakey discovered “Homo Habilis”, regarded as
one of the earliest members of the human genus. After a brief presentation we will have access to a small but informative
Olduvai museum.
Today we will have the opportunity to visit the Masai at one of their local Bomas(village). We will be able to see and
experience the way they live, work, and celebrate. Perhaps be invited into a Masai Inkajijik (house). Photo opportunities
will abound with these wonderful people.
We continue the day wayward to the Seronera area of the Serengeti. An afternoon game drive will give us a preview of the
million plus wildebeests and zebras of the migration. We spend the next few nights in exclusive private tented bush camps
in the Serengeti. Our camps are Mobile Luxury Tented camps. Each spacious tent has en suite bathroom facilities. The camps
are intimately integrated in the surrounding African bush. It offers guests the perfect balance between comfort, privacy and tranquil isolation.

Day 6 - Serengeti
One of the oldest ecosystems on earth is the Serengeti. The necessary elements of climate, vegetation and fauna have almost
remained the same over the past million years. It’s the “Great Migration” for which Serengeti is most popular. Over a
million wildebeest and about 250,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains
every October and November, and then circulate west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. The ancient
instinct to move is so powerful that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested rivers can keep them back. Words alone don’t do
the Serengeti justice. It is a place of pure beauty and raw nature. For a photographer there just aren’t other places that
can eclipse the opportunities that this majestic place offers.
Venture on morning and afternoon game drives or take an optional hot-air balloon safari to view the Serengeti plains from
above. If you have opted for the optional balloon safari you will follow it with a champagne breakfast. After your breakfast
you will be reunited with the rest of the group for a continuation of your photographic adventure.
Our Private Luxury Tented camps have different strategic locations throughout the year in order to be near areas with higher
animal concentrations.

Day 7 - Serengeti / Arusha
Set off on your last early morning safari in the Serengeti. Fly back to Arusha on a charted group flight from the Serengeti,
and later in the day on to your home country or take your safari extension on to Zanzibar. We will have opportunities for
shopping and leisure as we await for our transfers to Kilimanjaro International Airport. You’ll get to take advantage of
having a day room in which to get a fresh shower, some rest and refreshments before you depart.
Day Room - Olasiti (Farewell Lunch)
